About these terms
These terms set out the basis on which Risdon Automation Services ("we", "us", "our") provides our services to you, and the basis on which you use this website. By using our site or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.
These are our general terms. Specific project engagements will be covered by a separate written agreement or Statement of Work, which will take precedence over these terms where they conflict.
About us
Risdon Automation Services is a sole trader business based in Devon, United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@risdonautomation.com.
Using our website
This website is provided "as is" for informational purposes. You may use it for personal or business research, to learn about our services, and to get in touch. You may not:
- Use the site for anything unlawful or fraudulent
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access, probe for vulnerabilities, or disrupt the service
- Scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of our content without permission
We reserve the right to update, change, or take down content at any time without notice.
Our services
We provide automation and workflow development services, including but not limited to: building n8n workflows, API integrations, custom scripts, reporting automation, and related consultancy.
The scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing for any specific engagement will be agreed in writing before work begins. Prices shown on our website (e.g. "from £400") are starting points — actual project pricing depends on scope and is confirmed in a proposal.
Payment terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Starter Workflow engagements: 50% upfront, 50% on delivery
- Growth System engagements: monthly in advance
- Enterprise Platform engagements: milestone-based, agreed per project
Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue. Late payments may incur interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
Intellectual property
Your content: Anything you provide to us (data, credentials, business information) remains yours. We use it only for the purposes of delivering your project.
Deliverables: Upon full payment, you own the workflows, scripts, and documentation we create specifically for you. We retain the right to reuse general techniques, patterns, and non-proprietary code components across projects.
Our tools: We use open-source tools (n8n, Python libraries, etc.) whose licenses remain with their respective owners. We'll always tell you which tools your automation depends on.
Our website: The design, copy, and images on this site are owned by us unless otherwise credited.
Confidentiality
We treat any non-public information you share with us (business processes, credentials, data, strategy) as confidential. We'll only use it to deliver your project and won't share it with third parties without your consent, except where legally required.
For larger engagements, we're happy to sign a mutual non-disclosure agreement.
Third-party services
Our automations often depend on third-party platforms (email providers, CRMs, payment processors, AI APIs, etc.). We don't control those services and can't guarantee their availability, pricing, or features will remain unchanged.
You are responsible for the accounts, credentials, and ongoing costs associated with third-party services your automations depend on.
Deployment and handover
We deploy automations to infrastructure you own — typically your own n8n instance, server, or cloud account — unless otherwise agreed. You'll receive full documentation covering setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
You are responsible for the ongoing security, backups, and operation of the infrastructure your automations run on (unless ongoing support is explicitly included in your engagement).
Warranties and liability
We'll deliver our services with reasonable skill and care. However, we don't warrant that our work will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet every possible use case — software is software, and real-world systems change.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with an engagement is limited to the fees paid for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses — including loss of profit, business, revenue, data, or goodwill.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Cancellation
Starter Workflow projects can be cancelled before work begins with a full refund. Once work has started, the upfront payment is non-refundable but we'll deliver what's been built to date.
Growth System subscriptions can be cancelled with 30 days' notice. No long-term lock-in.
Enterprise Platform projects follow the cancellation terms agreed in the specific Statement of Work.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. For existing clients, any changes apply to new engagements, not work already in progress.
